Werrit Mire
Cassette/digital release by Bivalve
Released as a split with the Strange Fog album Lighthouse Song.
This album was a cathartic step after several difficult years. For about half of the material I arranged my usual features—pads, granulated choirs, pseudo-organic textures—for songwriting rather than instrumental stuff. With live bass and sung lyrics, the result is some sort of guitarless, slow-core post-rock, expressing myself as felt necessary. Lyrical themes, though overlapping, broadly map as parental love (Sebisti), animal ethics (Shred alive), self-loathing (Loser Daddy), struggles with wellbeing (Yearning), and certain cherished auras of places and entities (Violet beetle).
